The Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) basketball knocked off the host West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS), 48-34 in Friday's league test.
The Warriors (17-1) will now prepare for their test against Starkville (Starkville, MS). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league test with a 14-2 record. In their last test, Starkville went down by Germantown (Madison, MS), 57-50, in a league test.
The Green Wave now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Clarksdale for a 5A Region 1 test on Tuesday, January 9. West Point will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 39-28 league loss to New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-7.
