Southwestern Trojans (Jamestown, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Portville Panthers (Portville, NY), 58-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Trojans travel to Dunkirk (Dunkirk, NY) to clash with the Marauders in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - West I bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Marauders go into the bout with a record of 3-0.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Frewsburg Bears (Frewsburg, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - East I bout, on Friday, January 12. Portville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-1 season record.
