Wilsonville Wildcats (Wilsonville, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Putnam Kingsmen (Milwaukie, OR), 72-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wilsonville upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts (Milwaukie, OR) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Northwest Oregon bout on Thursday, January 11. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 1-8.

Next up, the Kingsmen play the Hillsboro Spartans (Hillsboro, OR) in a 5A Northwest Oregon bout, on Monday, January 8. Putnam will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 50-44 league loss to Canby (Canby, OR).
