Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany can't hold off James River

The James River Knights basketball team scored 30 points and held the visiting Alleghany Cougars to 24 in the Knights non-league triumph on Friday.
The Knights now sport a 1-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carroll County for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9.
The Cougars (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Radford (Radford, VA). The Bobcats enter the non-league contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, Radford was nudged by Patrick County (Stuart, VA), 35-30, in a non-league contest.
