IMG Academy Ascenders (Bradenton, FL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD), 79-61 in a league bout.

With the win, IMG Academy upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Ascenders travel to Legacy Early College (Greenville, SC) to clash with the Lions in a Freelance bout on Friday, January 7. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 6-10. Legacy Early College lost 74-46 in their recent league bout against La Lumiere (La Porte, IN)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Montverde Academy Eagles (Montverde, FL) in a Freelance bout, on Friday, January 7. Bishop Walsh will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 71-61 non-league loss to Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, KS).
