The Smithville Smithies basketball team (Smithville, OH), dropped 44-30 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Chippewa Chipps (Doylestown, OH)
The Chipps now possess a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rittman for a Wayne County battle on Saturday, January 8. Chippewa will confront a Indians team coming off a 66-28 league loss to Northwestern (West Salem, OH). The Indians record now stands at 1-10.
The Smithies (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Dalton (Dalton, OH). The Bulldogs come into the Wayne County battle with a 6-5 record. In their last battle, Dalton beat Norwayne (Creston, OH), 59-32, in a league battle.
