The Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) basketball nipped the visiting William Campbell Generals (Naruna, VA), 65-62 in Friday's league test.
The Colonels (7-2) will now prepare for their test against Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Eastside got by Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA), 73-37, in a league test.
The Generals now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Randolph-Henry for a non-league test on Monday, January 9. William Campbell will encounter a Statesmen squad coming off a 62-59 league loss to Cumberland (Cumberland, VA). The Statesmen record now stands at 3-6.
