North Carolina High School Basketball - Central Academy nipped by Anson

January 6, 2023: Monroe, NC 28112

The Anson Bearcats tipped the host Central Academy Cougars basketball team by a final score of 61-56 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Bearcats face the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 44 game, on Tuesday, January 10. Anson will attempt to move on its 7-6 season record. The Redhawks enter the game with a 3-5 record after their 54-50 non-league loss to Sun Valley (Monroe, NC).

With the defeat, Central Academy moves to 7-8 on the year. The Cougars travel to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Conference 44 game on Tuesday, January 10.
