North Carolina High School Basketball - Madison thwarted by Avery County

The Madison Patriots basketball team (Marshall, NC), was toppled 63-46 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings now possess a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Owen for a 1A/2A Conference 42 battle on Tuesday, January 10. Avery County will confront a Warhorses team coming off a 66-55 non-league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 6-8.

The Patriots (3-12) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the 1A/2A Conference 42 battle with a 13-1 record. In their last battle, Mountain Heritage beat Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 68-37, in a league battle.
