Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs (Sumner, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Axtell Wildcats (Axtell, NE), 55-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Pleasanton (Pleasanton, NE) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Elm Creek Buffaloes (Elm Creek, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Axtell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 67-35 non-league win over Wilcox-Hildreth (Wilcox, NE).
