Stewart County Royal Knights (Lumpkin, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Baker County Bears (Newton, GA), 62-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stewart County upgrades its record to 2-11 on the season. The Royal Knights travel to Randolph-Clay (Cuthbert, GA) to play the Red Devils in a A D2 Region 1A bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Randolph-Clay lost 59-51 in their recent league bout against Calhoun County (Edison, GA)

Next up, the Bears play the Quitman County Hornets (Georgetown, GA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Baker County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 54-53 league loss to Pataula Charter Academy (Edison, GA).
