Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Buckhorn Wildcats (Buckhorn, KY) and the visiting Berea Pirates (Berea, KY), saw Buckhorn's basketball squad hold off Berea by a count of 60-57.

With the victory, Buckhorn upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Knott County Central (Hindman, KY) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Knott County Central won 68-12 in their recent league challenge against Cordia (Hazard, KY)

Next up, the Pirates play the Lexington Christian Eagles (Lexington, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 9. Berea will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-2 record after their 80-51 league win over Paul Laurence Dunbar (Lexington, KY).
