Virginia High School Basketball - Menchville crushes Bethel

Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA), 70-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Menchville upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Monarchs host Warwick (Newport News, VA) to play the Raiders in a Peninsula bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Warwick won 60-49 in their recent league bout against Gloucester (Gloucester, VA)

Next up, the Bruins play the Heritage Hurricanes (Newport News, VA) in a Peninsula bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Bethel will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 49-40 league loss to Hampton (Hampton, VA).
