The Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) basketball crushed the host Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 57-36 in Friday's league test.

The Bears (9-4) will now prepare for their test against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers go into the Mountain Empire test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Fort Chiswell walloped Galax (Galax, VA), 56-47, in a league test.

The Blue Devils now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to George Wythe for a Mountain Empire test on Tuesday, January 10. Grayson County will encounter a Maroons squad coming off a 74-42 league win over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 9-1.
