Brookside Cardinals (Sheffield, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Wellington Dukes (Wellington, OH), 70-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Brookside upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Cardinals host Black River (Sullivan, OH) to play the Pirates in a Lorain County 8 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 6-6. Black River lost 74-66 in their recent league bout against Firelands (Oberlin, OH)

Next up, the Dukes play the Clearview Clippers (Lorain, OH) in a Lorain County 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Wellington will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Clippers go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 74-51 league loss to Oberlin (Oberlin, OH).
