The University Liggett Knights (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI) basketball nipped the visiting Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals (Marine City, MI), 47-43 in Friday's league test.
The Knights (5-0) will now prepare for their test against Cranbrook Kingswood (Bloomfield Hills, MI). The Cranes go into the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Cranbrook Kingswood was tipped by Everest Collegiate (Clarkston, MI), 58-45, in a non-league test.
The Cardinals now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they host Lutheran North for a Catholic AA test on Tuesday, January 10. Cardinal Mooney Catholic will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 70-43 league loss to Loyola (Detroit, MI). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-2.
