Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Century Panthers (Rochester, MN), 66-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Winona upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Winhawks travel to Austin (Austin, MN) to clash with the Packers in a AAA Section 1 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Packers go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Austin lost 76-60 in their recent league bout against Northfield (Northfield, MN)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Owatonna Huskies (Owatonna, MN) in a AAAA Section 1 bout, on Saturday, January 7. Century will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 73-54 league win over Mayo (Rochester, MN).
