Middlesex Chargers (Saluda, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Charles City Panthers (Charles City, VA), 71-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Middlesex upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Chargers travel to Christchurch School (Christchurch, VA) to clash with the Seahorses in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Seahorses go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Christchurch School lost 70-44 in their recent non-league bout against Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the King William Cavaliers (King William, VA) in a Tidewater bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Charles City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 76-28 league win over West Point (West Point, VA).
