South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Clayton-Ridge Eagles (Guttenburg, IA), 59-50 in a league bout.

With the win, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Warriors travel to Central (Elkader, IA) to play the Warriors in a Upper Iowa bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 3-5.

Next up, the Eagles play the Midland Eagles (Wyoming, IA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Clayton-Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 57-39 league win over Starmont (Arlington, IA).
