Metcalfe County Hornets (Edmonton, KY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Clinton County Bulldogs (Albany, KY), 65-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, Metcalfe County upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Hornets host Russellville (Russellville, KY) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Russellville won 59-53 in their recent league bout against Logan County (Russellville, KY)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Cumberland County Panthers (Burkesville, KY) in a District 16 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Clinton County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 77-44 non-league win over Burgin (Burgin, KY).
