Coalfield Yellow Jackets (Coalfield, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sunbright Tigers (Sunbright, TN), 45-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Coalfield upgrades its record to 3-8 on the season. The Yellow Jackets host Harriman (Harriman, TN) to play the Blue Devils in a 1A District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Harriman lost 70-61 in their recent league bout against Oakdale (Oakdale, TN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Jellico Blue Devils (Jellico, TN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 9. Sunbright will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 83-58 league win over Hancock County (Sneedville, TN).
