Fans at Friday's league challenge between the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) and the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw East Gaston's basketball squad wallop Thomas Jefferson by a count of 79-35.

With the victory, East Gaston upgrades its record to 12-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Shelby (Shelby, NC) to play the Golden Lions in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Golden Lions come into the challenge with a record of 5-5. Shelby won 68-41 in their recent league challenge against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Gryphons play the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge, on Friday, January 13. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record.
