Fans at Friday's league challenge between the East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ) and the visiting West Side Roughriders (Newark, NJ), saw East Side's basketball squad overcome West Side by a tally of 73-62.

With the victory, East Side improves its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Red Raiders travel to Columbia (Maplewood, NJ) to confront the Cougars in a Super Essex - American challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 8-3. Columbia won 56-50 in their recent league challenge against North Star Academy (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Roughriders confront the East Orange Campus Jaguars (East Orange, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. West Side will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 57-49 league win over Central (Newark, NJ).
