Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL), 60-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Herrin upgrades its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Tigers host DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 6-8. DuQuoin lost 52-36 in their recent league bout against Nashville (Nashville, IL)

Next up, the Redbirds play the Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio bout, on Friday, January 13. Frankfort will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 15-2 record after their 71-43 non-league win over Hardin County (Elizabethtown, IL).
