Fuqua Falcons (Farmville, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Tidewater Academy Warriors (Wakefield, VA), 48-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Fuqua upgrades its record to 1-8 on the season. The Falcons travel to Cumberland (Cumberland, VA) to clash with the Dukes in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Dukes go into the bout with a record of 1-8. Cumberland won 62-59 in their recent league bout against Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the Banner Christian (Chesterfield, VA) in a VISAA Division IV bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Tidewater Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 83-48 league win over Kenston Forest (Blackstone, VA).
