Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Northside Christian Academy Crusaders (Lexington, SC), 82-78 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gilbert upgrades its record to 3-13 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC) to play the Bruins in a AAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Bruins come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Orangeburg-Wilkinson won 84-41 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Marion (Santee, SC)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Providence HomeSchool Panthers (Columbia, SC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Northside Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 77-55 non-league loss to Calhoun Academy (St. Matthews, SC).
