Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA), 79-63 in a league bout.

With the win, Varina upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA) to clash with the Mustangs in a Capital bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-9. Mechanicsville lost 62-51 in their recent league bout against Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA)

Next up, the Springers clash with the Patrick Henry Patriots (Ashland, VA) in a Capital bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Highland Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record.
