Southview Cougars (Sylvania, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Maumee Panthers (Maumee, OH), 59-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Southview upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Cougars host Napoleon (Napoleon, OH) to clash with the Wildcats in a Northern Lakes bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Napoleon lost 56-41 in their recent league bout against Anthony Wayne (Whitehouse, OH)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets (Perrysburg, OH) in a Northern Lakes bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Maumee will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 55-53 non-league loss to Rossford (Rossford, OH).
