Newman Catholic Knights (Mason City, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting St. Ansgar Saints (St. Ansgar, IA), 63-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newman Catholic upgrades its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Knights host Osage (Osage, IA) to play the Green Devils in a North Iowa bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Green Devils come into the bout with a record of 6-2.

Next up, the Saints play the Central Springs Panthers (Manly, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. St. Ansgar will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 65-47 non-league loss to Nashua-Plainfield (Nashua, IA).
