Sterling City Eagles (Sterling City, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Ozona Lions (Ozona, TX), 64-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sterling City upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Water Valley (Water Valley, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 14-7. Water Valley lost 79-49 in their recent league bout against Christoval (Christoval, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Reagan County Owls (Big Lake, TX) in a 2A Region I District 7 game, on Tuesday, January 10. Ozona will attempt to move on its 4-16 season record. The Owls enter the game with a 15-9 record after their 46-31 league win over Eldorado (Eldorado, TX).
