In Friday's league outing, the South Pittsburg Pirates (South Pittsburg, TN) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Whitwell Tigers (Whitwell, TN), by a margin of 60-32.

The Pirates (10-4) will now prepare for their outing against Sequatchie County (Dunlap, TN). The Indians go into the non-league outing with a 3-11 record. In their last outing, Sequatchie County was trounced by York Institute (Jamestown, TN), 74-37, in a league outing.

The Tigers now own a 4-10 record. They play next when they host Van Buren County for a 1A District 6 outing on Tuesday, January 10. Whitwell will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 82-77 non-league loss to White County (Sparta, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 5-6.
