North Carolina High School Basketball - North Stanly nudges Albemarle

January 6, 2023: New London, NC 28127

In Friday's league outing, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC), by a margin of 45-44.

The Comets (13-1) will now prepare for their outing against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Tigers go into the 1A/2A Conference 35 outing with a 5-10 record. In their last outing, Mount Pleasant held off Concord (Concord, NC), 48-28, in a non-league outing.

The Bulldogs now own a 9-4 record. They play next when they travel to Union Academy for a 1A/2A Conference 35 outing on Monday, January 9. Albemarle will clash with a Cardinals squad coming off a 47-44 non-league loss to Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-4.
