With the win, Irion County upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Hornets host Robert Lee (Robert Lee, TX) to play the Steers in a 1A Region II District 11 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Steers go into the bout with a record of 8-6. Robert Lee won 52-44 in their recent league bout against Garden City (Garden City, TX)

Next up, the Hornets play the Bronte Longhorns (Bronte, TX) in a 1A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Blackwell will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Longhorns go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 46-23 league loss to Veribest (Veribest, TX).
