Schulenburg Shorthorns (Schulenburg, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats (Bloomington, TX), 39-24 in a league bout.

With the win, Schulenburg upgrades its record to 12-13 on the season. The Shorthorns host Shiner (Shiner, TX) to play the Comanches in a 2A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Comanches go into the bout with a record of 9-3. Shiner won 48-41 in their recent league bout against Flatonia (Flatonia, TX)

Next up, the Bobcats/Lady Cats play the Louise Hornets (Louise, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 28 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Bloomington will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 0-13 record after their 52-16 league loss to Weimar (Weimar, TX).
