Young Women's Leadership Academy Lady Owls (Fort Worth, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Carter-Riverside Eagles (Fort Worth, TX), 47-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Young Women's Leadership Academy upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Lady Owls travel to Benbrook (Benbrook, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 4A Region II District 9 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 7-8. Benbrook won 49-43 in their recent league bout against Diamond Hill-Jarvis (Fort Worth, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Dunbar Wildcats (Fort Worth, TX) in a 4A Region II District 9 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Carter-Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record.
