Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Union Bobcats (Union, OR) and the host Elgin Huskies (Elgin, OR), saw Union's basketball squad overcome Elgin by a tally of 39-26.

With the victory, Union improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Powder Valley (North Powder, OR) to confront the Badgers in a 1A Old Oregon challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Badgers come into the challenge with a record of 7-5. Powder Valley won 52-13 in their recent league challenge against Pine Eagle (Halfway, OR)

Next up, the Huskies confront the Griswold Grizzlies (Helix, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon challenge, on Friday, January 13. Elgin will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 60-25 league loss to Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR).
