The McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers topped the visiting Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs basketball team by a final score of 49-34 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Buccaneers face the Atkinson County Rebels (Pearson, GA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 7. McIntosh County Academy will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Rebels enter the game with a 2-12 record after their 64-52 non-league loss to Citizens Christian Academy (Douglas, GA).

With the defeat, Emanuel County Institute moves to 1-8 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA) to face the Eagles in a A D2 Region 3 game on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 13-1. Montgomery County won 65-39 in their recent non-league game against Telfair County (McRae, GA)
