The Era Hornets (Era, TX) basketball nipped the host Tioga (Tioga, TX), 56-53 in Friday's league test.

The Hornets (15-10) will now prepare for their test against Alvord (Alvord, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Region II District 13 test with a 9-12 record. In their last test, Alvord was tipped by Collinsville (Collinsville, TX), 66-38, in a league test.

The now own a 12-12 record. They play next when they travel to Chico for a 2A Region II District 13 test on Tuesday, January 10. Tioga will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 41-30 league loss to Era (Era, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 4-9.
