The Gainesville Red Elephants basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Habersham Central Raiders to 42 in the Red Elephants league triumph on Friday.

The Red Elephants now sport a 12-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Apalachee for a AAAAAA Region 8 game on Tuesday, January 10. Gainesville will face a Wildcats team coming off a 45-31 league loss to Shiloh (Snellville, GA). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-10.

With the defeat, Habersham Central moves to 9-4 on the year. The Raiders travel to Banks County (Homer, GA) to face the Leopards in a non-league game on Saturday, January 7. The Leopards enter the game with a record of 14-3. Banks County won 64-37 in their recent league game against East Jackson (Commerce, GA)
