In Friday's league outing, the Guthrie Jaguars (Guthrie, TX) basketball squad beat the host Patton Springs Rangers (Afton, TX), by a count of 39-26.

The Jaguars (1-4) will now prepare for their outing against Spur (Spur, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 1A Region I District 5 outing with a 8-6 record. In their last outing, Spur defeated Paducah (Paducah, TX), 44-36, in a league outing.

The Rangers now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Jayton for a 1A Region I District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 10. Patton Springs will clash with a Jaybirds squad coming off a 85-26 league win over Motley County (Matador, TX). The Jaybirds record now stands at 10-2.
