In Friday's league match, the host Weslaco East Wildcats basketball team scored a tight 33-31 triumph over the Harlingen South Hawks.
In their next game, the Wildcats meet the Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 match, on Friday, January 13. Weslaco East will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record.
With the defeat, Harlingen South moves to 13-14 on the year. The Hawks travel to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX) to meet the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 32 match on Tuesday, January 10.
