Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hatley Tigers (Amory, MS) and the visiting Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS), saw Hatley's basketball squad overcome Smithville by a tally of 41-27.

With the victory, Hatley improves its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Alcorn Central (Glen, MS) to confront the Bears in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Alcorn Central lost 64-55 in their recent non-league challenge against Kossuth (Kossuth, MS)

Next up, the Seminoles confront the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles (Belden, MS) in a 1A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Smithville will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 36-15 non-league loss to Houlka (Houlka, MS).
