Hays-Lodge Pole Thunder Birds (Hays, MT) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Turner Tornadoes (Turner, MT), 45-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hays-Lodge Pole upgrades its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Thunder Birds travel to Chester-Joplin-Inverness (Chester, MT) to play the Hawks in a C District 9 bout on Saturday, January 7. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 2-3. Chester-Joplin-Inverness lost 68-38 in their recent league bout against North Star (Rudyard, MT)

Next up, the Tornadoes play the Chinook Beeters (Chinook, MT) in a C District 9 bout, on Saturday, January 7. Turner will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Beeters come into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 56-26 non-league win over Harlem (Harlem, MT).
