Scurry-Rosser Wildcats (Scurry, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX), 44-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Scurry-Rosser upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Mildred (Corsicana, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 3A Region III District 18 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 19-4. Mildred won 54-35 in their recent league bout against Blooming Grove (Blooming Grove, TX)

Next up, the Yellowjackets clash with the Rice Bulldogs (Rice, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Kemp will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 14-8 record after their 43-39 league loss to Palmer (Palmer, TX).
