Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears (Orange, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they saw their basketball squad wallop the visiting Vidor Pirates (Vidor, TX), 58-28 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Little Cypress-Mauriceville improves its record to 19-4 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Lumberton (Lumberton, TX) to confront the Raiders in a 4A Region III District 19 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 8-13. Lumberton lost 72-40 in their recent league challenge against Silsbee (Silsbee, TX)

Next up, the Pirates confront the Bridge City Cardinals (Bridge City, TX) in a 4A Region III District 19 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Vidor will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 52-33 league loss to Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX).
