The Sacred Heart Academy Irish (Mt. Pleasant, MI) basketball knocked off the visiting Montabella Mustangs (Blanchard, MI), 43-28 in Friday's league test.

The Irish (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Fulton (Middleton, MI). The Pirates go into the Mid-State test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, Fulton went down by St. Charles (St. Charles, MI), 45-12, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they host Chippewa Hills for a non-league test on Monday, January 9. Montabella will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 53-19 league loss to Reed City (Reed City, MI). The Warriors record now stands at 2-6.
