West Laurens Raiders (Dexter, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Perry Panthers (Perry, GA), 46-37 in a league bout.

With the win, West Laurens upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Raiders travel to Dublin (Dublin, GA) to clash with the Fighting Irish in a A D1 Region 2 bout on Saturday, January 7. The Fighting Irish go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Dublin lost 54-40 in their recent league bout against Swainsboro (Swainsboro, GA)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Peach County Trojans (Fort Valley, GA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Perry will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 67-34 non-league win over Crisp County (Cordele, GA).
