The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the host Pillager Huskies to 31 in the Wolverines non-league victory on Friday.

The Wolverines now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Menahga for a AA Section 8 contest on Thursday, January 12. Wadena-Deer Creek will battle a Braves team coming off a 54-39 league loss to Crookston (Crookston, MN). The Braves record now stands at 3-5.

The Huskies (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Pine River-Backus (Pine River, MN). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Pine River-Backus was routed by Cass Lake-Bena (Cass Lake, MN), 60-43, in a non-league contest.
