The Cuthbertson Cavaliers basketball team scored 38 points and restricted the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates to 12 in the Cavaliers non-league victory on Friday.

The Cavaliers now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10. Cuthbertson will battle a Mavericks team coming off a 54-14 non-league win over Myers Park (Charlotte, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 10-0.

The Pirates (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Warriors come into the non-league contest with a 8-1 record. In their last contest, Weddington triumphed over South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 36-34, in a non-league contest.
