In Friday's non-league outing, the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a count of 33-29.
The Panthers (4-4) will now prepare for their outing against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league outing with a 4-6 record. In their last outing, Ashe County was tipped by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 47-25, in a non-league outing.
The Patriots now hold a 6-4 record. They play next when they host South Caldwell for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 10.
